Computer Scientists are Offenders

Here’s a reader’s comment recently found in the Swiss newspaper Tagesanzeiger (TA). The mentioned article refered to a recent tragedy, where a computer scientist committed suicide after killing his wife and two kids. Is this reader’s comment a joke? Who knows.

Many computer scientists are offenders; they have, for example, committed sexual offenses, or are responsible for bloodshed in their own families. In my opinion, their brain got out of control while working with information technology. As we all know, computer scientists consume cocaine. It increases their imagination so they can program more efficiently and creatively. Having access to all that can be found on the Internet all day, no wonder their imagination gets out of hand. I am convinced that we need supervisory bodies for computer scientists, in order to put away potential offenders at an early stage.
